Student Assessment
Released Short- and Extended-Response Items from the Mathematics ISAT - 2006 and 2007
Beginning with the spring 2006 administration, the mathematics ISAT contains two short-response items and one extended-response item that contribute a total of 15% to a student’s mathematics ISAT score. The two short-response items contribute a total of 5%, and the one extended-response item contributes 10% to the scale score.
Multiple-choice, short-response, and extended-response scores all contribute to produce one scale score. Scale scores determine a student’s performance level in terms of one of the following categories: Exceeds Standards, Meets Standards, Below Standards, or Academic Warning. Scores earned on short- and extended-response items alone are not associated with a performance level.
