Writing Frameworks

The Illinois Writing Assessment Framework for grades 3, 5, 6, and 8 has been posted on the Student Assessment website— www.isbe.net/assessment/IAFindex.htm - under Assessment Frameworks as well as at the Writing link - http://www.isbe.net/assessment/writing.htm.

The Framework defines the writing content that will be assessed on ISAT in grades 5 and 8 beginning in the spring of 2007, grade 6 beginning in the spring of 2008, and grade 3 beginning in the spring of 2009.
