Presenter Harriette Herrera, ELL Consultant for the
Student Assessment Division of the Illinois State Board
of Education, will share information about the State
testing program for ELLs.
Topics include:
- Updates and changes to the IMAGE Test for 2007.
- Recommendations
for improving literacy skills and test performance.
- Complete information on the ACCESS for ELLS Test,
including English language proficiency testing requirements
both
from state and federal perspectives; suggestions
for the administration of the test; and using the
scores
to make placement and exit decisions.
- Use of the
screener for identification of ELLs.
- Guidance on
access to the online training materials and quizzes
required to administer the ACCESS
for ELLS test
or the W-APT
