Ordering ACCESS materials

This email is an email alert with basic information about ordering materials for ACCESS for ELLs. Districts should have received an email notice from MetriTech (our testing contractor) regarding ordering.

ACCESS for ELLs ordering window will open Monday, October 16, 2006 and go until November 17, 2006.

When placing your order, request only the number of tests needed for each form (grade) and tier. MetriTech will automatically add overage to your order to accommodate any unforeseen increase in student numbers during the testing window.

ACCESS for ELLs is the language proficiency test for all English Language Learners (ELL) or Limited English Proficient (LEP) students. Every ELL/LEP student in grades kindergarten through grade 12 is required by state and federal law to be tested with ACCESS.

ELL or LEP students must also take one of the following academic tests: IMAGE, ISAT, IAA or PSAE.

The window for administering ACCESS can be found at www.isbe.net/assessment - click on ACCESS. The waiver form for modifying the testing window is located at that site as well.

Testing Academic Year 2006 - 2007

Follow these directions to place your order on the MetriTech web site:

  1. Access http://www.metritech.com.
  2. Click on the MetriTech logo (the large M) to access the home page.
  3. Click on the WIDA ACCESS for ELLsTM button on the left-hand side of the screen.
  4. On the next screen, you’ll be asked to enter a User Name and these using all lower case (this same password will be used to access your order confirmation):

    User Name: wida
    Password: access

    (If you make a mistake, you will be denied access, and the system will prompt you to try again. Check to make sure caps lock is off. Type the password and user name again.)
  5. The next screen is a Welcome to WIDA ACCESS to ELLsTM screen. Choose your state from the drop down menu. Select the START button and follow the on-line instructions.
  6. If you need assistance, please call (800) 747-4868 and ask for WIDA Technical Support. A staff member will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

ACCESS for ELLs - PreID LABEL ORDERING INFORMATION

ISBE will be providing the data for the PreID labels from the Student Information System (SIS). Please make sure your district’s information is updated in the system. Please contact us if you have any questions about PreID labels.

The Pre-ID labels will be included with your test booklet shipment January 09, 2007.
