COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING  — SAVE THESE DATES!

New Leadership Institute

Please save August 6-7, 2013 for the New Leadership Institute in Springfield, Illinois.

The Leadership Institute is geared to support English Learner Program (EL) Directors and administrators who are new to the field or who have been working with the EL program for a small number of years.

Last year was the inaugural year for the Leadership Institute.  The event was a great success.  Based on the feedback we received this year, we plan to include topics relating to the challenges and considerations for working with EL students, an overview for program design and resources for administrators, English learners and Special Education topics, and review the general administration of the program (such as the review of state and federal requirements, program timelines and procedures, etc.)

Registration details will be shared in an upcoming newsletter.  Participants will be able to register for both days or choose one day to attend.

Fall Program Directors’ Meeting

Please save September 25-26, 2013 for the Annual Fall Bilingual Program Directors’ Meeting in Lisle, Illinois.  Additional information will be forthcoming.  Hotel registration will open beginning September 1, 2013.
