Math: Lesson Makeover Workshops
Intended Audience:
Teachers, Professional Development Coordinators
Description:
This 3-hour workshop is designed to support teachers in day-to-day lesson writing. After increasing their familiarity with the mathematical practice and content standards, teachers will rewrite a current lesson increasing the rigor and alignment. Teachers will evaluate tasks and define a quality example as being aligned to the standards, having multiple solutions/methods, being built from a context, and having a rubric for assessment.
Suggested Use for these Documents:
- Professional Development Coordinators can use these documents to run a workshop on rewriting current tasks and lessons.
- Teachers can use these documents as a guide to write and/or adapt further tasks.
