Parent Involvement
Parent Involvement is a requirement of NCLB Title 1 Part A
Subpart 1 SEC 1111-1118. Districts are required to have a district parent involvement policy, a school parent involvement policy and a school/parent compact. Other requirements are to have an Annual Parent Meeting, annually review these policies and to involve parents in decision of the use of the parent involvement set aside funds for Parent Involvement Activities.

- ISBE Introduces Family Engagement Webinar Series

The Illinois State Board of Education's Division of Innovation and Improvement conducted a series of 60 minute Family Engagement Webinars as part of a statewide family engagement initiative. Each webinar in the 2012 series features practitioners from the 2011 Regional Summits. The practitioners share their experiences in the successful implementation of evidence-based family engagement strategies in their schools or districts. - Achieving Excellence and Innovation in Family, School, and Community Engagement webinar series is an opportunity for stakeholders representing national, regional, and local organizations to learn about family, school, and community engagement research, best practices from the field, and new innovations that are making a difference in school improvement and student learning. Leading practitioners, researchers, and policymakers will share real-life examples from the field about what it takes to effectively engage family and community with schools.
