The assessments are coded according to standard and stage. Example: 28AI is aligned to standard 28A, stage I (ninth & tenth years of language study). Sample student work, when available, follows the assessment.

28A.I - At the Movies
Demonstrate understanding of a foreign-language film by presenting a review including supporting details and opinion of the movie. 28B.I - Keep the Ball Rolling
Paired students will choose a topic card provided by the teacher and sustain a conversation based on the topic chosen.28C.I - Reading Reader's Digest (French)
Demonstrate understanding of a story from Readers Digest in the target language.28D.I - Business Letter
Students will write a letter to a tourist bureau or business in an area where the target language is spoken to request specific information.29A.I - Encounters
Students will role-play specific situations.29B.I - Musical Medley (Spanish)
Students will listen to different popular songs recorded by different artists in the target language and compare their themes and analyze similarities and differences.29C.I - Literary Choices
After studying two or more literary works, students will write an article for the literary section of a Sunday newspaper.29D.I - Living History
Demonstrate understanding of lives and times of selected historical figures in the target language culture by conducting researching and make a presentation.29E.I - Census Report
Students will make oral presentations acting in the role of government officials presenting data to his/her peers.30A.I - Eye on the Environment
Demonstrate research skills and write paragraphs describing the impacts of pollution.30B.I - What's My Line?
Students will role-play a game-show scenario in which students will present descriptions of a variety of occupations to a contestant who will identify the culture for which the job originates.
