About 450 school districts
with below-average property wealth per pupil will receive Closing
the Gap technology grants from the State Board of Education.
Closing the Gap is a
new initiative under the Technology for Success Program, administered
by the State Board. The CTG program provides additional funding
to support and enhance the district's community-based technology
plan.
Districts must have
an approved technology plan in place, and they must provide matching
funds, also based on the wealth of the district. The
specific amount of the grant is based on the EAV of the district,
the number of students and the matching funds required.
