School Districts to get State Technology Grants
“Closing
the Gap” technology grants have been awarded by the
State Board of Education to 225 school districts throughout
the state to support, enhance and expand the districts’
community-based technology plans.
The Closing the Gap (CTG) Initiative is entering its second
year of funding for districts in the state of Illinois.
Districts
must have an approved technology plan in place and provide
matching funds. The specific amount of the grant is based
on a formula that takes into account the wealth of a district
and the number of students with the district receiving a base
amount. CTG is funded under the Technology for Success Program,
administered by the State Board.
Attached
is a list of districts that will receive grants for the 2002-2003
school year.
