Technology Grants Awarded
to 53 Schools
Enhancing Education through Technology Competitive grants
have been awarded by the State Board of Education to 53 school
districts throughout the state.
The grants are made available through the No Child Left Behind
federal legislation. They are targeted to assist districts
with at least 40% of their students from low-income families.
Applications for the grants were reviewed by an outside committee
of technology coordinators, teachers, district superintendents
and university professors.
Districts must have an approved technology plan in place
and spend at least 25% of their grant monies on ongoing, sustained,
and intensive high quality professional development.
