House and Senate send final education budget to Governor
The Illinois House and Senate have approved and sent
to the Governor an education budget for FY 2004 totaling
$6.56 billion in General Funds - an increase of $330 million
over FY 2003. Until the Governor signs the appropriation
bill, however, the numbers are subject to his line item
veto authority.
