Announcement of Public Forum
Comprehensive compliance reviews are monitoring visits
designed to examine compliance with applicable state and
federal requirements for the provision of special education
services. The Illinois State Board of Education, Division
of Special Education Services, is currently conducting
such a review of the Bloomington School District #87.
As a part of the monitoring process, a forum has been
scheduled to receive public comment regarding the delivery
of special education services within the district. Topics
of discussion may include individualized education program
(IEP) implementation, the provision of services in the
least restrictive environment (LRE), transition services,
the involvement of parents in the special education process
and other issues specific to the district. Comments gathered
through the public forum process will be incorporated
into the comprehensive compliance review process.
The public forum will be held:

6:00 p.m. to7:30 p.m.
