Illinois State Board of Education and
Illinois Parent Teacher Association seeking input for
School Report Card Redesign
Parents encouraged to complete online survey
Springfield, Ill. -The Illinois State Board of Education
(ISBE) and Illinois Parent Teacher Association (PTA) are
partnering to design a new snapshot version of Illinois'
School Report Cards. The goal in developing these snapshots
is to provide parents with the information they want to
know about their schools in a concise, easy to read format.
Snapshots will be designed with a focus on making school
performance information more accessible and understandable
to parents and the general public.
As ISBE and the Illinois PTA begin the redesign process,
they are seeking input from parents and the general public.
An online survey has been posted at www.isbe.net/survey,
and individuals with an interest in this initiative are
encouraged to fill it out. The survey will be accessible
online through February 25, 2005. A link to the survey
has also been included on the ISBE home page at www.isbe.net.
Survey responses will be incorporated into the development
and design process. The new snapshot design will be implemented
with the release of the 2004-2005 School Report Cards
later this year.
