Iroquois West Community Unit School District 10 makes
Adequate Yearly Progress for 2002-2003
State Board of Education announces results
of districts appeal
Springfield, Ill. The Illinois State Board of Education
(ISBE) has announced that Iroquois West Community Unit
School District 10 in Gilman made Adequate Yearly Progress
(AYP) in 2002-2003, meeting
all the assessment and accountability requirements under
the federal No Child Left Behind law. Iroquois West Community
Unit School District 10 was initially labeled as not making
AYP in ISBEs December 2004 announcement of Illinois 2002-2003 district and school
results.
Upon the districts appeal and ISBE staffs
review of the districts data, discrepancies in Iroquois
West Community Unit School District 10 data were corrected.
After these corrections, ISBE has found that the district
made AYP in 2002-2003.
The districts successful appeal is extremely important,
as AYP is the critical measure of success under the federal
No Child Left Behind law.
