Illinois State Board of Education to hold public forum
on special education services in Springfield District
#186
Springfield, Ill. – The Illinois State Board of
Education Division of Special Education Services is currently
conducting a comprehensive compliance review of Springfield
Public School District 186. Comprehensive compliance reviews
are monitoring visits designed to examine compliance with
applicable state and federal requirements for the provision
of special education services.
As a part of the monitoring process, a public forum has
been scheduled to receive public comment regarding the
delivery of special education services within the district.
Topics of discussion may include individualized education
program (IEP) implementation, the provision of services
in the least restrictive environment (LRE), transition
services, the involvement of parents in the special education
process and other issues specific to the cooperative.
Comments gathered through the public forum process will
be incorporated into the comprehensive compliance review
process.
The Public Forum as part of Comprehensive Compliance
Review of Springfield Public School District 186 Special
Education Services will be held:
- Tuesday, April 12, 2005 - 6 to 8 p.m.
- Springfield School District #186 - 1900 West Monroe
- Springfield, Illinois
