Illinois State Board of Education announces available
financial support for candidates of National Board of
Professional Teaching Standards
Applications due June 20, 2005
Springfield, Ill. The Illinois State Board of Education
(ISBE) has announced that it will pay $2,000 of the National
Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) candidate
application fee for qualifying Illinois public school
teachers seeking National Board certification in 2005-2006.
The Board anticipates that it will be able to assist at
least 325 teachers during the June 2005 application period.
All interested teachers are asked to apply. Priority will
be given to teachers who meet the established criteria
and have filed the completed ISBE application (ISBE 77-32)
with ISBE on or before Monday, June 20, 2005.

Awards will be announced by Thursday, June 23.
