National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program SY2012-2013 Meal Pattern Question and Answer Webinar - March 21, 2012
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has released the nutrition standards for school meals beginning with school year 2012-2013. The new standards were designed to align school meals with the most recent nutrition recommendations and current capabilities of schools. The Nutrition Programs Division of the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) presented a webinar on the USDA Food Based Meal Pattern Overview for School Year 2012-2013 on February 22, 2012. This recorded webinar as well as the PowerPoint presentation used for this webinar are available on our website.
Another webinar for Illinois schools on this topic is planned for March 21, 2012 beginning at 1:30 PM. The webinar will provide a brief overview of the new meal pattern with a focus on question and answers submitted by schools since the earlier webinar regarding overall implementation.
