Superintendents’ Conference Won’t Be Held This Year
For over 30 years, the Annual Superintendents’ Conference has been held each fall as a way to gather together and share ideas as the new school year begins. As we are all aware, times have changed and schedules have become increasingly difficult to manage. These facts, as well as the state’s fiscal crisis and discussions with superintendents, have caused us to reevaluate the need for the conference. During these discussions, Brent Clark, executive director of the Illinois Association of School Administrators, graciously offered to collaborate with ISBE and included us in their conference held in Springfield on April 13-14, 2010, and, as a result, there will be no Superintendents’ Conference this year. We hope to continue to collaborate with IASA in the future at the spring conference, and will keep you updated.
